Q: Do I have to use Stop Bath?
Sprint strongly recommends the use of BLOCK Stop Bath. While it is possible to develop film without using it, BLOCK Stop Bath has a number of important functions. It stops the action of the developer immediately. It significantly reduces staining, emulsion swelling, and reticulation of films and prints. Sprint BLOCK Stop Bath also neutralizes the pH of the developer, thus making the fixer more effective. BLOCK Stop Bath is also vanilla scented, making the product more pleasant to use. Block also has a color indicator that signals exhaustion by turning the Stop Bath from yellow to lavender.
